David Sparrow – Managing Director

David joined the business in 1987 and over the years has led the development of the Practice to a point where we now have a 26 strong team of senior and junior advisers, technical and personal assistants and other vital support staff.

David is a Chartered Financial Planner specialising in technical areas such as Trusts and IHT mitigation and when he gained his qualification in 2005 was amongst the first in the country to obtain this pinnacle industry award.

In addition to his management role within the business David oversees the portfolios of his long standing existing clients most of whom he has taken care of for the best part of 20 years.
Nick Beal – Director
APFS Chartered Financial Planner

Nick has 18 years experience of the financial services industry and joined David Williams’ team in 2000. He was involved in the business during his final years of playing for Northampton Saints and remains involved with the Club as a Board member.

Nick is also a Chartered Financial Planner and uses his high level of technical knowledge combined with the drive and determination needed to succeed in professional sport to provide a high level of service to his clients. Nick plays a key role in the ongoing development of David Williams Independent Financial Advisers.
Ian Lowe – Director
B.Soc.Sc; APFS Chartered Financial Planner

Ian graduated in Maths and Economics from Birmingham University in 1988 and then gained his financial services experience with Standard Life and Clerical Medical before joining David Williams in 1999.

Ian has also achieved Chartered Financial Planner status and in addition to looking after a portfolio of existing and new clients Ian is responsible for the important areas of compliance and training & competence. Great emphasis is placed on the continued development of all of the advisers to ensure that we have talented individuals coming through the ranks to offer continuity of advice to all our clients for the long term.
Phillip Cox – Director
Dip PFS

Phillip joined David Williams Independent Financial Advisers in 2002 and has worked in financial planning services for over 30 years. He advises clients principally in Northampton and Leicester, many of whom moved with him from his previous consultancy. Phillip has always specialised in pensions and retirement planning for individuals and companies and uses his extensive knowledge in this area to help David Williams Independent Financial Advisers to promote group schemes and individual pensions. As retirement planning becomes ever more important, knowledge in this area is vital to our clients to ensure a happy and successful retirement.
David Knight – Director – Company Secretary

David has been with David Williams Independent Financial Advisers for over 18 years and a total of 33 years in the financial services industry having previously been the youngest ever Branch Manager at the former Anglia Building Society – now Nationwide. Over the years he has been instrumental in building strong links with other professional firms including accountants and solicitors. This ensures mutual clients receive the best advice in all aspects of their financial affairs in particular with regard to personal tax planning and family trusts.
