A SCHOOL media project has passed its fundraising target thanks to the kind support provided through David Williams IFA and the company’s clients.

The company’s 2017 Charity Golf Day on September 6th raised £5,000 to support Northgate School Arts College in Kingsthorpe, Northampton.

Northgate is a secondary special school for pupils with a wide range of learning difficulties, sensory impairment, physical disabilities and Autism. Northgate is equipping a new radio and media studio for its sixth form. The money raised on the day take the school over its £20,000 funding target, confirming the project can proceed.

The event, held at the Northamptonshire County Golf Club in Church Brampton, saw 60 golfers play in an 18-hole Stableford competition. In a tight contest, the winning round came from Russell Smith who carded a score of 36 points.

Donations from guests, players and David Williams IFA were boosted by a well-supported raffle and donations from financial product providers.

Nick Beal, managing director at David Williams IFA, says: ‘We had another wonderful day, with clients both longstanding and new playing together to support a very deserving cause.’

Sheralee Webb, the Executive Head Teacher at Northgate, was a guest of DWIFA on the day. She explained to players how the new media studio will help pupils develop essential communication skills and help prepare them for a more independent life.

This year marked the 25th David Williams IFA Charity Golf Day. Over the past quarter century almost £100,000 has been raised through the event for various local causes.

David Williams IFA would like to thank the generosity of guests, the companies who donated money or raffle prizes and the staff of Northamptonshire County Golf Club for ensuring an excellent day.
